Interpreting Life Through Art

my path into photography wasn’t linear, and for a long time, i wasn’t entirely sure where it would lead. i began university studying medicine, following a more traditional and academic route. alongside that, creativity had always been a constant thread in my life and photography became an outlet – a way to process, explore, and create when everything else felt rigid and overly structured. eventually, i stepped away from that path to pursue art more seriously. the years that followed were full of exploration: photography, painting, drawing, and design. like many creative people, i found myself pulled in many directions at once, trying to understand where i – and my work – fit in the world.

Welcome, I’m Anna

throughout all of this, i had been photographing weddings quietly in the background. it wasn’t something i initially set out to pursue as a career, but over time i realised how naturally it brought together everything i care about: people, atmosphere, creativity, design, and the fleeting moments that carry real emotional weight in our lives.

looking back, the winding path makes sense. all of those experiences shaped how i see, and how i work today.

outside of photography, i’m drawn to places and moments that invite you to slow down. constantly immersing myself in new cultural traditions, stepping into fully realised universes through books and their strong world-building narratives, discovering restaurants tucked away on quiet streets, wandering through new cities, long swims in the lochs near where i live, and evenings that stretch over good food, company, and conversation.

MY WORLD

creativity has always been part of my life. before photography, there were sketchbooks filled with drawings and paintings, often influenced by mythology, folklore, powered by imagination. that same curiosity still shapes how i see the world today – noticing light at different latitudes, colour, texture, and the small details that give a moment its fully embraced character.

Art as expression

getting lost in a daydream – bowls of ramen – finding old family photos – renaissance art – unconventional design – aperitivo – film photos – oysters – vintage finds – pastel skies – sustainable fashion – whisky sours – immersive travel – siestas – romance without cliché – collecting film cameras – spicy margs – 2000s chick flicks – people that wear their hearts on their sleeves – cold water swimming – sketchbook doodling – collecting hobbies – statement rings – soulmate connections

the places, interests, and even the more mundane moments that shape how I see and create throughout this lifetime of mine.
